Preparing Students for Achievement
The El Paso Area CTE/Tech-Prep is a cooperative group of government agencies, school districts, post-secondary educational institutions, civic and trade associations, employers and educators dedicated to the economic development of our region. We serve over 650,000 people and over 800 employers in 25 school districts.
The El Paso Area CTE/Tech-Prep was established in 1991 under the federal Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act, which established Tech-Prep. The federal School-to-Work Opportunities Act of 1994 added School-to-Careers programs. Current Texas legislation can be found at the Texas Workforce Commission web site - http://www.twc.state.tx.us.
Mission Statement
The mission of The El Paso Area CTE/Tech-Prep shall be to provide quality technical assistance, support, and leadership to participating educational business/industry/labor organizations within the region to prepare students for academic and technical achievement for improved regional economic growth.
Vision Statement
The El Paso Area CTE/Tech-Prep exists to provide our students with better career opportunities, elevate students' academic and technical aptitude, build partnerships between educators and employers, and promote the economic development of our region.
